Let There Be Light
27, NovIn the Covid year of 2020, the Cathedral District of Jacksonville decided to brighten our City by decorating 150 trees with strings of white lights and flood lights on seven historical churches and buildings in downtown Jacksonville. During the Holiday Season, visitors were encouraged to take a driving tour of the District narrated by JSO Conductor Courtney Lewis describing the history and architecture. On the day after Thanksgiving, the opening night of the "Let There Be Light" showcase featured live music scattered throughout the District including church choirs, a live nativity, and the First Coast Wind Symphony Christmas Carol Band. We were delighted to partner with historic Mt. Zion AME Church and performed on their front steps for several hours as visitors stopped by to listen.
